An interesting variety of music this week, from St. Vincent to Turbo Fruits, from George Clinton and P-Funk to Rodrigo y Gabriela, from Flogging Molly to T-Model Ford, an 89-year-old Mississippi blues hound. Spring is in the air, too, as good gigs are beginning to come thick and heavy in the coming weeks and months. Those of us at Some American are already getting the vapors over the arrival of couple of swell little bands from Georgia, a certain Mastodon and one Baroness. Get your metal pants ready, music-lovers.

TEN finally comes roaring in with a bevy of musical offerings this week, after Thievery Corporation and their Banana Republic dressing room-sound finally vacated the 930 Club. Intriguing dates are coming thick and fast, so get out there and titillate your ears. Some American’s favorite tragic rock hero, Nick Oliveri, is even here for a night, and you have two opportunities to catch one of the greats, Loudoun Wainwright III. Peruse at your leisure after the jump.

The Thievery Corporation fellas are taking up residence in the 930 Club this week, though tickets only remain for Sunday. If you like music that makes you feel like you are in a Banana Republic, act quick. Otherwise, there are plenty of small bands in town this week to check out, so open your minds, readers, and let DC expand it. Have a look-see after the jump.
